As an aging Empire attempts to control an ever expanding territory, a new hero emerges to change the fate of the people of Aionos.
People of Aionos is a game in a brand new sci-fi setting. Developed with Unity for Windows, PoA is a 3/4 view, sprite based Action RPG and is heavily influenced in style and story by games of the Golden Age of Square Soft : Final Fantasy 4 and 6, Secret of Mana and the Lunar Series on the Sega CD, but with gameplay elements from modern titles. People of Aionos tells the story of the Empire of Aionos and more importantly, it”s people, as they go through the 3rd Aionosian civil war. From six different point of views, the player will experience, participate and live in the most crucial conflict of this once great Republic.
As the game begins, the usually unorganized rebels have just found what they were looking for…
The original idea for the game was for a Roguelike, but as development progressed, the need to tell the story of the People of the Empire of Aionos from different point of views became the core of the game. With players dying quickly in a roguelike setting, it was getting difficult to engage emotionally those player into caring for these people that were canon fodder. So the entire roguelike part of the game was put on ice to potentially be used in another game.
The Protagonists of People of Aionos

Born into a middle class family, Astrai Dragan rapidly reached the top of Aionosian social life, in great part due to her husband, Cyprus Dragan. Filled with ambition and a drive to succeed, she helped her husband to reach the position of Governor of the remote world of Inir Fog, with some of the most cunning strategies and daring plans.

Victoire is a police sergeant from Inirion who is very apt, strong and devoted to her work. She still remembers Inir Fog before its Imperial presence. She has a clear memory of the siege of Inir Fog. On its last, unforgettable day, Imperial shuttles dropped rations on the starving and homeless population, as a gesture of peace and support. She remembers that thanks to the Empire’s colonialism, she was able to pursue an education, had a roof over her head and ate 3 meals a day. For what she considers her true salvation, she will be forever grateful to the Empire.
She firmly believes that the Empire, a colonialist entity, is a necessity. Its tactical Force can and should be used for the Greater good, as humanity is now scattered and living in a chaotic universe. In the same giving spirit, to ‘pay forward’ what the Empire has given her and to help the citizens of Inir Fog’s capital, she joined the police force as soon as she was able to.
She likes working in the streets of Inirion, talking to the young ones in her neighborhood and protecting the people that need her the most. She doesn’t mind being passed over time and time again for a desk promotion to remain on the field. She doesn’t want, nor does she care for the political game that can make or break a career over special favors and secret dealings.
What she doesn’t know is that her time with the people of the city is coming to an end and the political world has finally taken an interest in her.

So sometimes, Goro wanders the streets of Dust Ban Si and acts outside the law as a vigilante to truly help the people in his community and sometimes to undo what he just did officially as mayor.
Goro is about to have to have the past brought up from the dead one last time…

Destiny is about to put her morals and values to the test…
Collateral Damage in People of Aionos
One of the core concept for People of Aionos is the concept of collateral damage. In most combat situation there are passers by, civilians and un-involved people in the conflit getting hurt and killed. We want to reflect this and the consequences of shooting everything that moves :
- Neutral NPC’s that survive may be give the current character or another protagonist some upgrade later in the game. If he was killed, you will have missed it.
- Neutral NPC’s may attack you if you become aggressive as they feel threatened by you. It does not mean that every NPC with the same Sprite will have the same behavior, don’t treat everyone that looks similar the same.
- The world will react to your actions in different subtle ways.
- Killing, Hurting, Scaring ore refraining from doing any of those will used to influence the worlds opinion of this hero and his faction.
- And More!
